Sometimes this world seems so big. We are, each of us, one little person and how can we, so small in the scheme of things, make a difference? And then something happens to convince me that we may be small, but the way we can touch other people's lives can make such a big impact.
In the past few months I've gotten involved, via the blog-world, with a wonderful community of artists. Craftsters, writers, photographers, stylists... you name it, the talent is in this pool of incredible people. Recently, tragedy has struck a member of this close-knit group and it is something that cannot be ignored. There have been so many who have written about the events and the people involved, but Jordan, from the blog "Oh Happy Day" has been able to summarize:
"Last week Christian and Stephanie Nielson were in a very serious plane crash. They are a young couple with four children under the age of six. They are in critical condition. Stephanie has third degree burns covering 80% of her body and Christian has third degree burns over 30% of his body. The recovery will be very long and very expensive.
If you are able, please consider contributing to this fund that will go directly to the family. http://www.nierecovery.com/
Today, several websites are auctioning off items for their benefit. Go here to see the comprehensive list: http://www.designmom.com/ .
Updates about Stephanie and Christian here: http://blog.cjanerun.com/."
I've never met these people in person, but Stephanie and her family have touched so many that it's hard not to feel the impact of their goodness and love. If you are interested in helping this family, please consider making a donation or a bid at one of the several auctions going on today.
