I am so, so excited about this! The PPA (Professional Photographers Association) is hosting a Super Monday program. According to their website,
"Super Monday features educational programs around the country at a location near you! Tuition for a full day of learning is just $99 if you pre-register. Super Monday courses are hosted by professional photographers in their own studios - course offerings typically range from seniors, children and weddings to marketing and digital imaging."
Basically what this means for someone like me, who doesn't have a lot of money to spare, gets to go to my very first workshop! And, although that is pretty exciting in itself, the workshop is being taught by one of my own photographic-rockstar-heros - Jose Villa.
Jose's work is not only beautiful, but also exclusively uses film. In this world of modern technology where everything is bigger, faster, better, flashier... he has brought the fine art aspect back into his weddings and portrait commissions. If I can pick up only one or two things from Jose's workshop and incorporate them into my own photography, this will be a trip well worth the money and the 6-hour round trip drive.
To see more of Jose's photography, please, please check out his blog. Seriously? It is amazing.
Please note that all photographs in this post were taken by Jose Villa. (These were taken from 805 Weddings magazine who is featuring his work in their latest issue.)
